What do you plan on using it for Wobbel? Just a backup type drive or?

Curious is all.

Here is an 80GB Iomega that looks really nice for 150 bucks..

my suggestion...

... is when getting a USB drive, try to get a USB 2.0 but make sure your system supports USB 2.0. while the portablity of the drive is great, the speed and copying of the data isnt so great. I recently ran through a test of 4 different drives, I liked em all the same but the one thing I didnt like was that they were ungodly slow with USB 1.0

It's mainly going to be used to store movies and music (mp3)
I want it to be portable so i can take it to a friend of mine,to hook it up to his pc,wich is connected with this huge plasma tv screen,so we can watch movies there.I download a lot of movies through the newsnet (binarie groups) and it's costing me a whole lot of cd's,for movies we only watch once or twice, thought this would be a good solution,we split the costs.

ps: we already decided it's gonna be a usb 2.0 or firewire connection.

I agree with Gabriel on this, if you don't have any USB 2.0 compliant ports, you can buy a pci adapter that usually has two ports on it, or you can do the same with firewire.

Very good idea Wobbel. I think for USB harddrives.. the only good use is for data storage and transport. I spend alot of time trying to figrue out where to FTP things so I can get them transferred to and from my work PC.. I guess I should get USB hard drive to handle this
