USB connections

Ok, I bought a new case, and it has connectors for a front usb port. the cable has the connectors on it and they read:
VCC
USB+
USB-
GND

there is a spot on the motherboard with 4 pins labeled USB1 but it doesn't tell me where to put each connector...

I have a PCChips M830L V3.1 motherboard and 215-4HL-S case.

berks is on a distinguished road
check the manual for your MOBO it will show you where they should be connected. If you don't have the manual go to the manufacturers webpage and download the manual.

Arrow FYI usb

Some usb kit, do not all ways work as it should, when connected to the front/ case usb ports, if you do get problems! try the main usb at the back, pc link /etc just don't seems to like em at the front found out the hard way, was just about to give up and bin the cable!

Thank you

The manual explained everything for me, and now I have enough USB ports for all of my devices! Thank you very much...

Another USB Question:

I just finished my first home-built machine last night. The case,an Antec SX1080AMG, has front mounted USB ports, but the manual doesn't specify whether it will support USB 2.0. My motherboard, an Asus P4t533-c, has pins for both flavors of USB. For now I have them plugged into the USB 1.1 slot, but I haven't tested them yet.

Anyone know if I can just plug the wire from the front ports into the USB 2.0 slot on the motherboard and have USB 2.0 on the front ports?

I would assume you could hook them up because you can plug USB 1.1 devices into USB 2.0 slots and they will work

Oh LO cant agree with you more there. I put a four port usb card on a machine that never ever had usb's to begin with. Lemme tell you sumthing about pain and agony, I finally got my sound working but at that time, sound was the least of my worries...

lol

i can laugh about it now...
