Registry Cleaners?

I am currently using JV 16 Powertools to clean my registry every few weeks. You know..just to clean up some crap. But here recently I have been having problems with my Laptop running Super Slow. Its a WinXP Pro Machine...with 512Mb. 1.06Ghz Pentium. I am just assuming that this this is my problem. I have worked with comptuers for a very long time and this is the first time something like this has happened. Every thing is just poking along. What your sugestions? Whats my problem? Is there anything better to clean your registry with?

There is a patch released by Microsoft that slows windows to a crawl (I don't remember wich one but here's the link to M$ security bulletin: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...n/MS03-013.asp)

Maybe this is the cause of your troubles..

Good point Blackspawn. I posted that story over at UTC when it came out, but I had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder. I also use jv16 Power Tools. Did you get the latest beta update for it? Many changes. The info should be in our news section.

I use system mechanic also, and often wonder if theres anything else out there that is better. It can perform many different tasks and is very reliable. I also use Norton Utilities to check for windows problems. Are there any other progs that i need or i should be using?
