Something sticks in my head that max temp is around 90+ degrees celcious, so you are in good shape. I will do some looking and see if I can come up with the exact numbers.

Hey DC,
I did a little checking on AMD's website and for the AMD Athlon series they are saying max temp is 70 C . They have a pdf formatted data sheet for the cpu here . Hopefully that will help ya out

Hey DC,
Back in the day when I was into overclocking...........err ya yesterday....LOL when I have my AMD 1Ghz running at 1320 running either SETI or Folding@Home it would max at 41C so 38C is doing pretty good, plus ya gotta remeber mine has the watercooling on it so it will run a little cooler. I'm glad that tech sheet helped ya out

My Athlon XP 1600+ chip runs at about 120F. Either because of my 5 hard drives or just because I have a wire mess in there. LOL!

yeah but u mentioned it here, so i'm just saying. You should OC those chips a little and then install XP or even 2000 on it. It would run pretty good I would imagine even if you only made it 500MHz. My old PIII600 runs like a pro on XP.
