help please

Okay I had a power outage and my computer was on. I try to turn the computer on but it will not. I bought a new power supply and it turned on! but it went straight to the bios and started making a low noise like dot dot dot dot dot dot dot. i have a amd athlon xp +2000 2x 256 ram sticks. the big problem is that it wont even recognize my keyboard so i cannot try to edit the bios. is my motherboard fried? it was protected by a surge protector but i heard sometimes those dont even help

Well, if it magically boots with another power supply, then there is a big chance your motherboard got hit too. Are you sure the keyboard isn't damaged also? Have you tried another one?
