Displaying Wrong Speed
Hello there,
I just built a new computer with a AMD Athlod XP 3000XP and a Gigabyte GA7vm400M-RZ but its only showing CPU Speed 1060GHz. Anyone know why this is? I couldnt see any settings on bios. CPU clock is on 132 which is the maximum it could do? Is the motherboard not good enough?

had the same problem with my AMD 2800, it only showed 1250MHz, wat u need to do is, on your motherboard there is a small switch called SW1 turn it off, then your pc will reconise the AMD 3000, any problems finding the switch try looking thru your motherboard manual

The problem was the motherboard wasnt compatible with the 3000+ 512KB cache chip so i put a 2500+ and it goes fine displaying 1.8GGHZ. I have now put the 3000+ on a PC Chips board.
