Exclamation Hey guys - New 64 bit laptop!

Hi guys - xmas day and popped open a lovely new athlon 64 bit xp2800 with 512 ram , and a radeon 9700! Its the Acer Ferrari 3200 and i wanted to know if there is anyway to find the temperature of a 64 bit athlon cpu. Speedfan doesnt get it - just a quick not to ask if there is some sort of sensor reader out there just now!

Thanks for your time and a merry xmas to you all!

If there is a temp sensor on the motherboard, or if the 64 has a built in sensor it should be displayed in the bios.

If you don't know how to get into the bios, when you first boot up the system keep pressing the delete key or the escape key, sometimes the system will say press F1 for setup menu, once in the bios you can check everything out. I strongly advise thought that unless you know what you are doing don't change any settings no matter how good it sounds and exit without saving changes.

Another software program that may pick up the temp sensor is motherboard monitor, do a search for it on google and you should find their home page, it will take some time till software catches up to the new cpus.

I would recommend Everest Home Edition - it's free and new hardware sensors support is added often. In the program the Sensors section is found in General 'root'. Good luck

p.s. And congrats for the present
