Xp 3000
I just bought a new comp. It has AMD Athalon XP 3000+. Is this good or bad? Or just indifferent? My old comp had a Pentium 4. So I'm not real familiar with Athalon. Thanks for your opinions!

Athlon are apparently cheaper and faster... thats what im told. I currently have Pen4 2.6Ghz on my laptop and AMD on my main computer, i think its 1.2ghz, and i find my AMD one faster. My laptop sucks for speed. Bah Intel.

The XP 3000 is a great chip.
it runs at an ACTUAL clockspeed of 2.0but does roughly the equivelent work of a Pentium 4 running at 3.0. ...And the new Athlon XPs do not run as hot as the previous versions... with a good heatsink you should have no problems whatsoever.
