Well, if you want a cheaper option you could consider:
XP2500+ 512 MB PC-2700 (333DDR) With this configuration you can save a lot while keeping good performance... This if budget is important |

You could just overclock the Barton 2500 chip. The reason I say this is.. the two chips I have had run awesome and I actually wasa ble to run one of them at 180 degrees faranheit for over an hour.. and it still worked perfectly once I finally got the darned fan on right. (yes I was an idiot and put it together under the influence of Jack daniels). Lesson learned And I concur with igalan and LPDad on the Better Motherboard. Oh and.. whatever you do.. "DONT" cheapen yourself on your power supply. I bought a generic 500W PSU and I burned it in a few minutes on my XP2500 barton with my MSI motherboard. Whereas the 350W enermax is still running like a pro to this day.

After this I got a Thermaltake Silent Power True 480W. Expensive, but it's worth it. Don't look at raw wattage, this is not everything, I have seen 400W PSU with less than 180W combined output on 3,3v-5v... If you can get Antec, ThermalTake, Zalman they are usually pretty good. Unless you want to run 4 hdd and 2 burners or more, 350W is enough. |

Quick note, before re installing your os, if you have to, with your new board, PLEASE make sure your cd rom is better than this thing I got going now 4x4x24 CD-R/RW (that is correct, and this is NOT a dvd burner lol) I basically *burned up my -user copy- of XP, and went to my folks place to make another, after a couple days I got her a going though!
