Wink AMD's .13 Micron crap coming out soon?

All I can say is that when they come out with this CPU I hope they make a smart move like intel did (which I hate to admit intel did something good) such as they put an onboard heatsink onto the chip like they have done with the Pentium 4's, or when a heatsink is removed or not placed properly the CPU automatically freezes, and shuts itself down. If not I sure hope some company finds a new type of metal that can cool itself down, either that or a fan the size of a house. :p

It seems that AMD's new .13 micron chip should be out in a few months. I can't wait to see what improvements are gonna be on this chip.

Well, if you do get your wish and AMD does follow Intel's lead, I guess we won't be unlocking the chips anymore. I have 3 systems running XP procs and none of them have heat issues. I do agree that its a little easier to damage the proc while clamping a heatsink and fan on top, you just need to be carefull.

Yeah your right. The least they could do it give the chip some protection. The Athlon xhips reaching over 600 degree's F. when the heatsink is taken off. I'm sorry but I think that is was made poorly. I'd be willing to pay a little bit of extra money if they came with onboard heatsink, or at least the system locked when the temp got over like 170F or so. :smilewink

Well, if you want to pay more... the P4 is a great choice. I think the Xp is a great processor and really just needs to be handled with care. I have a system with a copper water block on the proc and a couple with cheap heat sink/fan combo's and both stay nice and cool....

Works for me,
