I am trying to share files with the latest version of
Badblue.
General Setup
OS: XP Pro (XP firewall disabled)
Router: Linksys BEFSR41
IP Address: 192.168.111.100
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.111.1
DSL CO: Bellsouth
Protocol: PPPoE
Static IP: No (random IP address)
Badblue Setup
Dynamic DNS options
Use dynamic DNS: Yes
Server name: dyndns.org
Host-name: blury
DynDNS user-name: blury
Set searching options
My IP Address: blury.dyndns.org
Proxy server (name:port): N/A
Proxy exceptions: N/A
Router and DSL Setup
I've forwarded port 80 in my DSL modem and router through both protocols.
What is my problem?
I have to use DynDNS because my IP is random and my router blocks my real IP (in Badblue, it uses 192.168.111.100 instead). I can connect initially to Badblue, but my shared address (blury.dyndns.org) is not accessible. I can not even access it from my own PC. My files are listed when I search for them, but I can not open the address or download anything. My account at dyndns.org is a valid one and is updating my dynamic IP like normal.
Anything I'm missing here? Thanks buds for any help. This has been asked quite a few times in the Badblue discussion board without a solution that has worked for me.
