I have used in the past a sounblaster external unit serial No SB0270, You can usb into this little box and Line out of it. Converting to the line out means that if you got line in on your stereo i,e, Phono sockets you should be able to plug one into the other. Think it was about £20uk around 30euro ish. The best way if your stereo got the inputs is to use optical. There are a lot of soundcards out on the market that have optical outs and just need a slight user adjustmant to change over from internal audio to optical out, the one I use now is http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=12950 Mainly due to the price of it. Not a bad sound card tho' for the money. If you only got line in "phono" on your stereo you'll need a card with "phono out" on it to get the best sound. Hope this helps a bit.
