I was seriously considering upgrading my motherboard but when i heard about the requirements for vista, i thought id wait it out and see what MSoft put out as the requirements before purchasing the upgrade.

Im pretty keen on getting a pci-x compatible mobo but i just cant justify the spend untill i know what vista will require since it may be that they usher in further hardware that will require even more gfx power than is currently available. OK so that statement is a bit muddled but im sure most of you get what im on about.

If i was to upgrade now, i really dont know what id go for. Im quite happy to take the plunge and go for mobo pack from novatech.co.uk (thanks ripperroo for the help last time round). They always run well and the costs are alot cheaper than purchasing parts separately and the old parts get handed down to my brothers.

regarding hard drives, for the xp install, would it be best to do

PLAN A
____________________
40-80gb drive for xp install
200-300gb drive for other files

PLAN B
____________________
150-300gb drive for xp install with 2 partitions :
200gb drive for other files

thanks

kf

ps. is partitioning your drive even the thing to do nowadays, considering how large and cheap drives are today?
