i built my comp from the ground up and i am having an issue. the specs are as follows:

-amd 64 3800
-asus motherboard
-1 gb of corsair (pc3200) ram
- nvidia 6800 video card
-antec case w/ antec 500watt ps
-wd 160g sata hard drive
-and an older soundcard from and older comp

everything seems to be put together correctly cause when i power it up i hear everything runing all the fans are moving and so forth, but my problem is that my monitor doesnt seem to be detecting a signal from the video card, it just says video signal not dettected and then the monitor just turns black. so with that problem in hand i cannot boot the comp and get everything set up, any suggestions would help thanks a lot.
