ECC stands for Error Checking Correction. And if your mobo works with non-ECC it's OK

-- non-ECC RAM is usually cheaper. And your mobo might work with ECC RAM - I've never tried this. What I'm sure and have tested is that mobos that need ECC RAMs do not work with regular ones
