I have not had that work in a long time. I usually just backup all my files and do a clean install when I do this. If you are going with new parts you want it to run as fast as you can get it to run anyway. A few things to keep in mind when you change your mobo out. Make sure you order a processor with the correct socket. If you order a mobo that takes a socket 775 then make sure that the CPU is the same socket. Also you need to keep in mind what kind of Ram that the new mobo takes. If you can get a mobo that takes your old Ram type then you will not have to upgrade this. if you don't then you will have to buy new Ram as well. I am running the P4c800e-deluxe and I like it.
