1)The Celeron chip is based on the Pentium 4 core (current).
2)The Celerons have up to(or more) four times less cache memory compared to Pentium processors (128k vs.....) and cache has a great effect on CPU performance.
3) FSB speed. If I remember correct Celerons run at lower bus speeds.
Compared two processors Pentium and Celeron running at the same speed have a great difference in performance.
