Motherboard problemo?

Hey guys - ok so i have a problem. What it is is - I had a computer it has been working ok, but it began freezing every so often and somtimes when i first begun the pc, it would give 1 long beep, then a gap one long beep and the screen doesnt fire up. So this happens to be a dram detection problem - no ram is found. So i left it a couple of attempts and yay pc turns on.

So i left it like this for a while, but then what has just happened is now all i get is this beep and i cannot start the pc at all. I have tested a different ram module which i know works in each of the 2 sdram modules, and tested ddr ram in the ddr ram modules and each time i get this beep. This same beep occurs if i have no ram and try to bootup. So i tried videocard, replaced with a working one, yet again, same beep. The cpu is working fine tested that in a seperare pc and its not overheated.

I also tried removing all IDE drives but same thing and also tried clearing cmos to no avail. Just checking for an opinion - im thinking the board is a dead one - what do you think.

Any ideas i really appreciated some thoughts on this topic so thanks a lot guys.

Spec is - athlon 1500xp
256 sd ram
win xp 20 gig hdd
I think it may be a jetway or asus motherboard - model = 867AS its fairly new and fairly decent.

Thanks a lot guys - i do have a good computing knowledge so no stupid things to try like does the fan start etc - as of course it does im not that dim!

Thanks again guys

Andy
