AMD Athlon XP System Building Help

Many of you have decided to build your own AMD Athlon XP system and many different questions have arisen. For example many of you have asked what temperature should your AMD Athlon XP run at? With the system I have my CPU runs around 56°C on a hot summer day and house gets hot! If anyone has a CPU that is running 60°C or higher when Idle you should look for ways to cool it down. Perhaps the heatsink was not properly installed and you should try reinstalling it. The retail stock heatsinks are designed for you CPU and you do not need to purchase a new one unless you are planning to overclock. If that doesn't help, you might want to change your case fan arrangement.

Here are two videos from AMD that shows how to properly remove and install a heatsink.

Heatsink Installation

For anyone else that has problem CPU temperature I have also posted a chart that list Athlon XP's and maximum temperature.
