You don't
need it. You can use those two sticks in dual channel if you place them in slot 1 & 2 or 2 & 3. If you want to have 2 GB in dual channel, then you need a 1 GB stick to place it in the slot 2. However there is little gain running in dual channel, and even less gain going from 1 GB to 2 GB on a desktop computer.
