I have a virus scanner running. I suspect that there is a pointer file that has caused this havoc. This in addition, to using a registry cleaner caused this mess. In any event the issue is moot at this point because I had a big crash and ended up doing a full install.
However, I wish to avoid this problem happening again in the future and want to do a full backup of the registry. Can anyone tell me how to install a backed up registry????
